Building Stories
At Comics Youth we are passionate about comics activities for all ages, and thanks to funding from The National Lottery’s Young Start Fund we are excited to announce our Building Stories comics sessions! These are for young people aged 8-13, 14-17, and 18-25, and all materials are provided.
Our sessions include activities such as creating comics, drawing jams, creating characters, worldbuilding, sketchbook development, writing stories, making zines, and reading comics and manga! Come along and get involved in a way that feels comfortable for you in a supportive environment, and make friends with other comics fans.

Comics Club: 8-13s
Saturdays 10-11.30am
What is it?
Come and learn how to make comics in a fun and friendly atmosphere! All materials are provided.
Where?
Charleston Library, 66 Craigowan Road, DD2 4NL
Blackness Library, 225 Perth Road, DD2 1ES
When?
Every 2nd Saturday from 10-11.30am (or every Saturday if you sign up for both libraries!)
Charleston: 28th June, 12th July, 26th July, 9th August, 23rd August, 6th September
Blackness: 5th July, 19th July, 2nd August, 16th August, 30th August, 13th September

Comics Corner: 14-17s
Wednesdays 4-5.30pm
What is it?
Come and meet other young artists in Comics Corner! Create characters, doodle in your sketchbooks, and bring your story worlds to life through making comics and zines. All materials are provided.
Where?
Teen Space, Central Library, Wellgate, DD1 1DB
When?
Every Wednesday from 4-5.30pm

Comics Encounters: 18-25s
Tuesdays 6-7.30pm
What is it?
Do you have a comic idea or creative project that you’re thinking about? Come along and develop your comics practice with support from comics peers and comics pros! Network with other young artists, learn professional skills, and chat about all things comics. Art materials are provided.

Feeling Strong, Block 5, Seabraes Lane, DD1 4NX

Every Tuesday from 6-7.30pm
