The Project

We were commissioned by Dundee City Council in partnership with Planet Youth to develop a comic resource for families based around a current social issue for young people.

Working with Primary 7 at St Clement’s RC Primary School, the young people led on this project at every step of the way. They chose vaping as the focus for the story and plotted out what they wanted to happen across the four pages, carefully considering their key messages. They developed each character with a detailed personal background, which informed how they would interact within the story. The class split into groups to decide how the characters would look, and their designs were used as direct references for the final comic - you can see some of these below.

It was a privilege to support these young people to share their voices, and we loved working with them!
